Hot YOGA Fitness & wellness



One day in 2012 I decided to try a yoga class to take a break from studying for my holistic nutrition finals. I rolled out my mat uncertainly and fumbled through my first class. I didn’t know the names of the poses, couldn’t touch my toes and my muscles were wound tight from years of running. It felt like a moving meditation, the first time my mind slowed down and I felt truly connected with my body. I delved in and it has been a love affair ever since. Resonating with the spirituality inherent in my favorite teachers I completed my 200 hour Akhanda YTT with World Conscious Yoga Family in 2014. I recently completed a 55 hour Seniors YTT with Kristen Beaulieu. I am continuously evolving in my personal and professional practice, motivated by my gurus and the amazing people in my life. Drawing on my personal experiences including mental health, injuries, and rehabilitation I wish to share with humility and an open heart my love for yoga in its many forms and all that it can bring to your life. I am a yoga loving Mom of two beautiful little boys.  I am originally from Halifax, Nova Scotia, but have lived in Calgary for 12 years.  I have worked as an Elementary school teacher for the past 10 years, specializing in early literacy and Physical Education.  I love to travel, hike, and spend time outdoors, especially around the water.  I am trained in vinyasa flow, Yin, and pre and post natal yoga.  I first turned to yoga for the calm and quiet after having my two boys.  I soon became hooked on hot power yoga, the hotter the better.  I am now completely addicted to pushing my limits in a hot room, but at times also crave a more gentle flow, or deep stretches in a Yin class.  My favourite yoga pose is tree pose because there is calm and serenity in the pose, but it is a challenge at the same time. 


Up and running by the age of 8 months, was born as a natural athlete. Participating in any type of activity available and always on the move. Competing internationally and volunteering as an amateur coach, gave me the desire to teach and learn from others. In 2010 injured and left unable to teach, Yoga became the foundations of recovery and shortly thereafter my way of life.  I went on to completing my first Teacher’s Training with Ally Bogard, Jeff Mah and Celeste Needham of Giaitri Yoga. Learning to slow down and breathe changed the outlook on my life, creating openness for becoming a Reiki practitioner and now a student of Ayurvedic Medicine. Join me on my journey of guiding individuals of all ages and abilities to achieve a higher quality of life by encouraging a unity of body, mind and spirit.

TESSA - on Materinity

Yoga has been part of Tessa’s life since she was a teenager.  She began practicing yoga more seriously in 2005 and completed her 200hr. Yoga Teacher Training in 2010.  Since then she has completed Kids’ Yoga training, Prenatal training and Yoga Nidra training.  She is also currently enrolled in the Yoga Therapy program at Mount Royal University. 

Tessa is also a mom, a Kindergarten teacher, and a R.H.N. Holistic Nutritionist. She loves to travel and has had the great fortune to travel to many places including Africa, India, Tibet and South America.  She enjoys spending time with her family, being outside, cooking, reading and learning.   



Falicia is continuously training in asana practice, meditation, teaching methodology, anatomy and physiology, philosophy, ethics and lifestyle. Falicia has been practicing yoga for over 9 years and been in the fitness industry for over 12 years and played various competitive sports she bring an athletic background and a behind the scenes knowledge of the industry. Starting her yoga journey in Halifax Nova Scotia all the way to Alberta, around Hawaii, Mexico and Cuba. She loves sharing in a practice that opens up a new way of being for every individual while rocking a great workout and a fabulous body. Having started with the renowned Baron Baptiste completing my Level I and Level II Baptiste Power Vinyasa teacher training then certifying in JOGA also known as Jock Yoga the diversity and the anatomical knowledge will guide a safe and fun practice.  Having added Barre Bllerobica, bootcamp and abs classes to her lineup she's always there ready to make you work. She looks forward to training in many more styles in the near future.

Laura began her yoga journey 6 years ago when she signed up for her first 8 week yoga class in the small town of Tofield, AB where she lived at the time. At first, she wasn’t sure about yoga, but over the 8 week program every week she began to feel lighter, more grounded and more in tune with her body, mind and breath. After that, she was hooked! She has completed many workshops and events and completed her 200 hour yoga teach training with Prana Yoga Studio in Edmonton and graduated June 2012. 
Laura’s teaching style is one of an inviting and accepting nature. In her classes, she likes to explore the foundation of the pose and focus is placed upon moving the spine in all 8 directions that it moves, creating a balanced body. She also likes to incorporate many alignment bases cues. She looks forward to seeing you at class or around the studio. You can almost always catch her with a smile on her face! Om shanti!
